Professor Frank Vogel to attend Islamic Finance Forum hosted by the U.S.–Qatar Business Council, and the Arab Bankers Association of North America

Professor Frank Vogel will be representing Institution Quraysh for Law & Policy (iQ) as a speaker at the upcoming Islamic Finance Forum in Washington D.C. on 28th July 2010. The Forum is being hosted by the U.S.–Qatar Business Council, and the Arab Bankers Association of North America, and will take place at George Washington University Law School during the 18th International Congress on Comparative Law.
The Forum will provide a platform for top Shari’ah scholars and leaders in the field to discuss Islamic finance and its potential to affect domestic, and global financial markets, and economic growth. Professor Vogel is an independent International Expert advising iQ on these matters as Senior Fellow and Head of Muslim World Law and Islamic Finance. He will join the distinguished panel of speakers at the Forum to address such topics as the definition of Islamic Law, Shari’ah financial regulation and practice as applied in Qatar and the larger Gulf Cooperation Council(G.C.C.), and compatibility of Shari’ah Institutions with U.S. law and regulation.
