Dr. Sven Spengemann

Dr. Sven Spengemann is a Fellow of iQ (International Organisation). He is currently a BMO Visiting Fellow at the Glendon School of Public & International Affairs in Toronto, where he teaches Middle East politics. He previously served with the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) in Baghdad (2005-2012), where he worked as legal advisor to the Mission and then as Senior Political Affairs Officer, leading UNAMI’s Constitutional Support Team. Prior to joining the United Nations, Sven served in the Government of Canada’s Privy Council Office as a Senior Policy Analyst. He was awarded a BSc from the University of Toronto, an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School, an LLM in EU law from the College of Europe (Belgium) and an LLM (waived) and SJD from Harvard Law School, where he held a Canada-US Fulbright Scholarship (2000-01). Sven currently serves as a Director on the Board of the United Way of Peel Region.
