Jay Mens is an Associate Fellow of iQ and is the Editor of iQPolicy. He is the Executive Director of the Middle East and North Africa Forum at the University of Cambridge, a think-tank researching the international relations of the Middle East, and is a researcher at Greenmantle, a macroeconomic and geopolitical advisory firm. Jay holds a B.A. in Politics with Double First Class honors from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge as well as an M.Phil. in History from Jesus College, Cambridge. He is fluent in seven languages including Arabic, German and Hebrew.
Jay has conducted research for Lt. Gen. (Ret.) H.R. McMaster at the Stanford Hoover Institution; Professor Brendan Simms at the University of Cambridge; and Ambassador Dennis Ross at the Georgetown School of Foreign Policy, among others, and contributes to The National Interest, and several academic journals. He is currently writing on a book on the development of American strategy in the Middle East from the Cold War to the present.
