Omran Al-Kuwari (iQ Fellow for Energy Policy) is the C.E.O of Enterprise Qatar. He is also the co-founder of GreenGulf and its C.E.O. He is an energy professional with over 15 years experience in the energy industry. After joining Qatargas, the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplier, in 1999, he worked for several joint ventures, Qatar Petroleum affiliates, and ExxonMobil in Qatar and in the U.K. His positions held include roles in information systems, marketing, commercial negotiations, and management, with experience working with European, Japanese, and North American customers, and partners. He was General Manager and Director of the London operations of South Hook Gas Company, Qatar Petroleum's first major LNG trading venture abroad, and the U.K.'s largest LNG importer, until August 2009. Mr. Al-Kuwari is now the Chief Executive Officer of GreenGulf Inc., a leading clean technology advisory business based at the Qatar Science & Technology Park, in Doha.

Mr. Al-Kuwari graduated from the George Washington University in 1999 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration (B.A.), and completed a Master's in Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Cass Business School, City University London with a thesis on 'Renewable Energy in Qatar' in 2009 and was awarded his post-graduate MBA degree in November 2010.

In 2011, he was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and "Middle East Clean Tech CEO of the Year" in 2012's New Economy. He was also recognized in 2014 by MESIA (Middle East Solar Association) and PWC as a "Solar Pioneer" during the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi.

He is in fluent Arabic, English, and French.
